Heel Bone Fractures
Expert Care from Board Certified Orthopedic Foot & Ankle Surgeons in Orange County
Calcaneus fractures refers to fractures of the heel bone. There are many fractures that fall under this category, such as stable, displaced, open, closed, and comminuted fractures. Fractures can be sustained through a variety of activities, but commonly occur due to high impact collisions, falls, or twists. Some of the symptoms of a Calcaneus fracture are pain, bruising, and heel deformity. There are both surgical and nonsurgical treatments available to patients, depending on the extent of the fracture.
Dr. Gerken brings years of knowledge and experience examining and treating Calcaneus fractures. He has developed a new approach to treating and providing relief for heel bone fractures, and is dedicated to getting you walking again—free of pain!
